The scope of work included the construction of a 7.8-mile light rapid transit system, 1.5 miles under the downtown core with three (3) underground stations, 13 above ground stations, and one (1) maintenance and storage facility. The Confederation Line when completed will be an advanced LRT system, and a significant part of a transit network of one of the world’s leading capital cities. This modernized transit system is considered as the largest infrastructure project since the Rideau Canal.
